Our Team

He asked Jesus Christ to be his Lord and Savior on July 30, 1971 at age 13. He and his wife, Jean, were married in August 1982 and began searching and praying for a church home for themselves and their future family. They first visited Wilkesboro Baptist Church on December 5, 1982 and attended regularly until they joined in September 1983. Steve was ordained as a deacon at Wilkesboro Baptist Church on September 22, 1991.

Since then, he has served eight (8) consecutive 3-year terms as a deacon. He has served as the Diaconate Chairman five times and has served under the leadership of three different Senior Pastors. He has also served as Finance Committee Chairman and as Budget Committee Chairman five times. In addition to his role as a deacon at Wilkesboro Baptist, Steve has served as a Sunday School teacher, Adult Sunday School Director, and member of the Building Committee.

Steve was elected to serve on two pastor search committees and served as Chairman of the Pastor Search Committee in 2014-2015. Steve and Jean have two adult children and one grandchild.
